Youth Engagement

We have reached over 13,725 students with our message of acceptance and hope.

We have comped over 2,175 free tickets for shows and performed at 46 local high school & colleges.

Making an impact.

The PGMC’s youth outreach & engagement program is central to the chorus’ mission. In 2014, the Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus partnered with community organizations to perform outreach concerts in local schools, fostering understanding and personal growth in our teenage audiences. Since then, we have reached over 13,000 students at dozens of local high schools and universities. We continue to support the LGBTQ+ community and empower young people by providing them with an opportunity to enter into a safe and affirming environment free from the threat of harm regardless of how they self-identify.

Your support ensures continued…

Opportunities
for young people to celebrate diversity through music

Exposure to Role Models
of proud, happy, successful LGBTQA adults

LGBTQA Visibility
in public space and civic events

A portion of all the money earned through our fundraising efforts supports our outreach program, including outreach concerts, complimentary concert tickets for local youth, and smaller workshops and events that bring our members and LGBTQ+ youth and allies together.

PGMC has been acknowledged for their outreach efforts, and was awarded the Delaware Valley Legacy Fund’s Non-Profit Hero Award in 2017.

“I love everything that they [PGMC] stand for, that it’s OK to be yourself.”

— Danielle, Student at Arts Academy Benjamin Rush
